[SPEAKER_A] Before we dive into the news, Joni, you've got our red alert.

[SPEAKER_B] I do. And there were 1,043 new CVEs added in the week ending May 21st, of which 2,000— and an additional, excuse me, 2,268 updated. So in other words, it was a very slow week.

[SPEAKER_A] Quiet, really. Yes.

[SPEAKER_B] Yeah. Of the new ones, 134 were critical with CVSS scores of 9 or higher and 15 got 10 out of 10. And in an absolutely stunning, earth-shattering surprise, the red alert goes again to Microsoft for a 10-pointer CVE-2026-42822, an elevation of privileges vulnerability in Azure Local Disconnected Operations, or ALDO. Short and sweet, the CVE says improper authentication in Azure Local Disconnected Operations allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges over a network.

[SPEAKER_A] It was an unauthorized attacker, actually.

[SPEAKER_B] Yeah, sorry, an unauthorized attacker. Did I say authorized attacker?

[SPEAKER_A] Yeah, you did.

[SPEAKER_B] Yeah, I don't know how you authorize an attack. Well, okay, red teaming, but never mind. Because this is for the disconnected Azure network, Microsoft can't transparently fix it behind the scenes as with the Azure issues we discussed last week. Users of the package are encouraged to update and upgrade to the patched code that is version 2604 or later. See the show notes for information. Yet again, you know, it's sort of at this point we are We are at dog bites man territory. Microsoft has a serious vulnerability.
