The July inflation numbers did almost the same thing. Consumer prices were basically flat, and producer prices the same. Hello, folks. Welcome to Kudlow. I'm Larry Kudlow. So look, inflation keeps coming down. Stocks keep going up. Kevin Warsh was right. And by the way, 156 million people are benefiting. Trumpian free enterprise is working. We don't need socialism or communism. And record stocks mean record prosperity. The S&P 500 hit another record high today.

And we do need or would be great to have a capital gains tax cut could be on the horizon. Now, listen to this yesterday when I spoke to Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick on our show. Take a listen.

I want to pitch you again to inflation index capital gains and give home sellers empty nesters, give them a bigger break on the capital gains tax when they make the sale. Why should they have to pay for Biden's inflation tax?

I think that's a really, really good idea. Right. You've got people stuck in their homes. We want to get these moving. I think that's a really good idea. I will bring that back to the president. I know he heard you say it before and he likes it. And I'll help you push it. Larry, it's a really good idea. I'm in favor of it. Boy, did I love hearing that from Howard Ludnick. Honestly, very, very, very good. Anyway, we've got Doug Holtz-Eakin and Mark Sumlin to talk about all this, the inflation, the stock markets, the tax reform.
