Hello and welcome to ASCO Daily News. I'm Dr. Megan Kruse, your guest host for today's episode. I'm the Director of Breast Medical Oncology and co-leader of the Breast Cancer Program at the Cleveland Clinic. Today, I'm delighted to be joined by Dr. Hope Rugo to discuss key advances in breast cancer that were presented at the 2026 ASCO Annual Meeting. Dr. Rugo is the Director of the Women's Cancer Program and Division Chief of Breast Medical Oncology at the City of Hope Cancer Center in Los Angeles, California. We'll be discussing the

Dr. Rugo, this year's annual meeting showed us that breast oncology is rapidly moving towards ultra-precision. Great. So let's jump right in. We'll start with some metastatic abstracts of interest. And the first one on our list is Late Breaking Abstract 1008, which is the update from the Victoria 1 study. So we've seen data for GDAD-ELISIB in PIK3CA wild-type patients, hormone receptor-positive HER2-negative metastatic breast cancer. And that data was encouraging with a significant improvement in progression-free survival.
