I'm Elizabeth Caselo, a reporter here at Beckers, and today I'm talking to Dr. Theodoros Teknos from University Hospitals. Dr. Teknos is President and Scientific Director of University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center and the Jane and Lee Seidman Chair in Cancer Innovation. Dr. Teknos, thank you so much for taking the time to speak with me today.

Dr. Justin Marchegiani Thank you, Elizabeth. It's a privilege and honor to be here. Dr. Amy Moore Before I dive into all my questions for you, I'd love if you could share just a bit about your background and your roles at University Hospitals for our podcast audience today. Dr. Justin Marchegiani Sure, I'd be happy to. So, you know, my name shortened is Ted Teknos. Theodoros is my full Greek name. So I'm a trained otolaryngologist head neck surgeon. So I did my training in the Harvard

Harvard system and then did a fellowship in head neck surgery at Vanderbilt University. I spent the first half of my career as a practicing otolaryngologist head neck surgeon and microvascular free flap surgeon, then transitioned into leadership roles in cancer programs. Dr. Justin Marchegiani Really, really the second half of my career, I continue to practice both head neck surgery and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Justin Marchegiani But now I'm the president of University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center.

Dr. Justin Marchegiani And I'm also the deputy director of the case comprehensive cancer center. So my role at UH really is to oversee all cancer related services across our 20 hospital system, and as well oversee the ambulatory and clinical trial functions of our cancer program.
