On June 9, 2026, Peter Tertzakian toured Trans Mountain’s Westridge Marine Terminal in Burnaby, British Columbia, which exports Western Canadian crude oil to tidewater. Peter shares some of what he learned, including comments from people working at the terminal on safety, tanker filling times, and the project to deepen the channel, which would increase the amount of crude oil that can be loaded onto each ship. And I'm Peter Turtsakian. Welcome back. Well, it's a Monday morning and you know what? I'm in a surprisingly good mood. I don't know why, honestly.

Oh, maybe because like the Iran war. Maybe that's it. Maybe the Strait is opening. The SpaceX IPO. Did you get some shares? No. No, but I'm kind of regretting it now. They're up 30% over the IPO, which was already a pretty high valuation. The stock's going to Mars. Yeah. I guess it's being priced in. The whole setting up human establishment on Mars. Yeah. So, mining and Mars. I don't know. I don't know what the cash flow spreadsheets look like on that one.

But anyway, hats off. It's Elon Musk who has revolutionized the auto industry, the internet, satellite, and now space, which is related to that. So, you know, actually, whatever you think of the guy, you just have to admire how one person can just completely revolutionize not one, but at least three industries.

I guess, yeah. And how the vision, his vision can get people putting their money. Like he's raised a lot of money, so we'll see what he does with it. I encourage people to read his biography because it talks about the origins of SpaceX and how just a handful of people were going to some remote island and just launching rockets and every single one of them failed.

And just the tenacity of continuing on and getting to where SpaceX is now. It's just SpaceX on its own, let alone Tesla. Just remarkable entrepreneurial stories. So... Well, and Starlink as well. And Starlink. Yeah. Then there's the FIFA World Cup. I mean, there's no shortage of things that were going on this weekend. Yeah, we were just saying this is like the sports lovers weekend. You had FIFA, you had basketball championships, Stanley Cup championship, Formula One. The cage match.

Oh, the cage match at the White House, which I couldn't see on TV. I found out after. I guess I had needed to subscribe to something else to see it. So I'm sure there'll be some video footage. Well, there was Spruce Meadows. I was out at that. Oh, Spruce Meadows, too. That's right. So you can throw that in there, right? Yeah, this is crazy. And then, of course, to cap it all off, some sort of agreement in the Middle East. Yeah, so Sunday we had news, that was June 14th, that Iran and U.S. have an agreement for free shipping through the strait.

You know, the full details of the agreement are not really available, although I did hear a New York Times reporter kind of give a bit more detail on it this ...
