Hello and welcome to the Bloomberg Tech Disruptors podcast. My name is Mandeep and with me today is Bill Staple, CEO of GitLab. Bill, welcome to the podcast. Thank you so much, Mandeep. It's great to be here.

Great. So, Luke, why don't we start with how things have shaped out over the past one year. You've, I think, completed one year and obviously one year is an eternity in the field of AI.

So, what are the things that you feel you had to focus on in your first year and where you think the product is headed given all the improvements you've seen with LLMs this year? Yeah, thank you. Actually, I just passed my 18-month mark here at GitLab as CEO. Oh, wow. Okay.

Time flies. It's been amazing. I mean, I've been building developer tools and platforms for 30 years. I guess that makes me sound pretty old. And I've seen many technology waves come and go and advance the state of software engineering. But I can honestly say this is the most exciting I've ever seen it in 30 years.

And it's one of the reasons I wanted to come to GitLab because GitLab's a really special company. It's founded on open source. It's got a broad, you know, more than 50 million registered developers around the world. Many Fortune 100 organizations, over 50%, depend on GitLab every day to build their software. So, you know, it's a company at the heart of software engineering, has been for over a decade.

And we've been taking this opportunity with LLMs advancing the state of the art when it comes to code generation to really step back and think about what does this mean for the future of software engineering and what role does GitLab play?
