We have a follow-up episode to our March 2025 discussion on treatment goals for RA, this time with some recent data from the SELECT-SWITCH clinical trial to add to the conversation.

Joining me again is Dr. Jain, and I will let Dr. Jain introduce himself. Yeah, great to be back. Thanks for having me. My name is Manish Jain. I am a private practice rheumatologist here on the north side of Chicago. I'm practicing rheumatology within my practice setting, which is Ravenswood Rheumatology. I also serve as a principal investigator for Flourish Research and have done clinical trials both inside and outside of rheumatology.

Awesome. Thanks, Dr. Jain. So before we get into the recent data, I wanted to briefly recap some of the key points from the last episode that we did. At that time, we really focused on the importance of timely disease control, how uncontrolled disease can impact a wide range of patient outcomes, including cardiovascular risk, which I think many of us are very familiar with at this point, but also other outcomes, things that we wouldn't think of, like infection risk.

Really the impact of uncontrolled disease. Yeah, it's really critical for patients to understand long-term consequences of rheumatoid arthritis inside the joints, but I think also really importantly outside the joints.

In my clinical practice, I really focus on rheumatoid arthritis and tight control of the disease. It's all about playing the long game. I have a lot of stoic patients in my practice, and I'll tell them, I care about your pain.
