Here on the Aerospace Advantage, we speak with leaders in the armed forces, industry, and other subject matter experts to explore the intersection of strategy, operational concepts, technology, and policy when it comes to air and space power.

This week, I'm especially excited to welcome Dan DeSilva of Jet Zero. You know, when we talk about aerospace design and production, most people have pretty distinct ideas in their mind of what an aircraft looks like. Aside from types like the B-2 and the B-21, planes have standard fuselages and wings. They're tubes with wings, right? And they're built in places like Seattle, Fort Worth, St. Louis, and Palmdale.

And that's all true because it speaks to a paradigm that's decades old and for a good reason, right? This is a proven design and they perform. America is a global aerospace leader, so clearly things in the system have worked well. However, it's also important to recognize that there might be room for improvement. So whether we're talking about new types of designs, operational paradigms, or expanding the workforce where we build airplanes, that's what Jet Zero represents.

They're bringing a fundamentally new set of strengths to the airspace industry, and this has major potential implications for the Air Force. And I think we'd argue that it's all to the positive. Of course, we want our established industry to thrive, but there's also room for new additions too. So, Dan, thank you so much for being here. Thank you, Heather.
