[SPEAKER_06] Good Monday morning. Welcome to Squawk on the Street. I'm Sarah Eisen with Carl Quintanilla and Michael Santoli. We are live from Post 9 of the New York Stock Exchange. David Faber has the day off. Stocks are under pressure this morning as oil prices jump and bond yields move higher. We'll get to the latest Iran headlines that are driving the action this morning. Plus, Nvidia announcing a historic $150 billion buyback boost as the company also lays out a plan to stop AI agents from misbehaving. We'll get an analyst's first take on whether those headlines will move the needle for the stock.

[SPEAKER_06] And is a 9% mortgage coming? We'll talk to one economist who says rates on the 30-year fixed could go a lot higher from here. And that's where we begin. We've got a big week ahead and the focus for all Wall Street is on the jobs market. So this week, we will get, starting tomorrow, consumer confidence, jolts, which is always good measure on how hot the labor market is. It tells us how many job openings there are and how many quits there are and that sort of thing. I mean, this is all ahead of the big jobs.

[SPEAKER_06] Report for September that we'll get on Friday and also in between Q2 GDP and the August PCE, the Fed's much-watched inflation report. So it's a big week of economic data. But the story really has been this March higher in rates, in yields. And that impacts people. I mean, there's the tenure. Had quite a jump last week, a big jump toward the end of the week especially.
