My guest today, Peter Schiff, believes that both gold and silver are headed much higher ahead in the face of rampant central bank money printing that threatens to accelerate to address massive government debt and deficits in an era of rising inflation that Peter believes could completely wipe out the middle class. Peter Schiff, great to have you back on Commodity Culture. I want to kick the conversation off today with silver, now below $70, we're at around $65 as of the last time I checked. Is this a buying opportunity or do you think some caution is warranted here? And in the long term, what do you see the trajectory of the silver market being?

Well, I mean, I think it's going much higher. I think we had a significant breakout at the end of last year, early this year, where silver ramped from like $30 an ounce up to over $120.

And then it had a big pullback that kind of coincided with the beginning of the Iran war and silver pulled back, you know, back below $70, which is where it's trading now. As you said, it's closer to $65. But ever since it blew through $50, it hasn't even come close to that level.

So I think that silver, you know, had a major breakout, clearly breaking through 50 years of resistance resulted in an overshoot. And now we've back and filled a lot of that overshoot. But I think it is a real breakout. That's why we haven't seen it even pull back anywhere near $50.

So I think anything between $60 and $65 or probably anything under $70, long term probably represents as good a buy on silver as you're going to get. And I think ultimately, we're headed a lot higher than that prior peak. It's just, you know, you're going to take a little time to get back up there. But I think once we get through it, silver is headed, you know, $200 an ounce and higher than that.

And you mentioned the Iran war. I'd love to pick your brain on why both gold and silver fell in the aftermath of that event starting and have largely trended sideways since then. We've seen an interesting pattern where whenever peace is proposed or apparently on the table, it seems like the metals rise. And when it looks like the war is back on, they fall again. This runs contrary to some people's thinking where they think precious metals are safe haven assets...
