Welcome to FreightWaves Today as part of our Future of Rail Symposium. Live from Chattanooga, I am Craig Fuller here with Julie Vandekamp. We host this show every day from noon to two. Hope that you tune in. So an abbreviated show today because of the Future of Rail Symposium. We have a lot to talk about rail.

Yeah, such good content from the symposium. It is nonstop. I think our audience wants to hear. They're clamoring, as Matt Laffer likes to say, for more rail content, talking about the future of arguably one of the most important modes of traffic across the United States. And it really is the backbone of the industrial sector. And I love listening to all the great speakers. Anything you've gathered from today in terms of what's happening?

Yeah. So we always talk about the AR report and how that, you know, seeing what's happening with those commodities and the demand there really gives us insight on what's going to happen in the freight market as those goods move into manufacturing or wherever they're going and how they support the industrial economy. But what I thought was interesting this morning, I listened to your interview with that gentleman from the STB and- Patrick Fuchs.

What I thought was so cool about it, what a good point was made is that we always talk about how there's people are consumers. So they think about passenger rail, but really everything we consume in many cases depends on the railroads too. Yes, it's going to touch a truck at some point.
