Copper jumping at $6.63, zeroing in on that $7 mark, that will be a psychological level without question and their oil remains at $82. I mean, it's hard not to see inflation coming should oil jump. I mean, we continue to see headlines and hello and welcome to The Northern Miner Podcast. My name is Adrian Pocobelli.

We continue to see headlines on low reserves of oil hitting critical levels. So this dance continues, in a sense, as it does for our everyday lives, the interplay between our thoughts and physical reality. That dance continues and we haven't seen it resolved yet in terms of our case study in real time here on the oil market.

Now, as far as the copper situation, it sounds like the jump is being attributed somewhat to concerns over Trump tariffs. As the headline here says at Bloomberg News via mining.com, U.S. copper inflows surge as market awaits Trump tariff call. So we continue to see a direct relationship here between the president of the United States and the commodity markets.

As it says here, copper is pouring into the U.S. at the fastest rate in at least 12 years as traders position ahead of President Donald Trump's decision on tariffs on refined imports. And then it gives us some numbers. But the real takeaway here is that copper is flowing into the U.S. on anticipation of potential tariffs. And just a little bit more on supplies.

The influx is being closely watched as the horde has been built at the expense of supplies in the rest of the world. Inventories in LME warehouses outside the United States have fallen sharply this year as traders diverted metal to American ports to capture higher prices.
