My guest today is Chris Gennady, Global Head of Research at Wisdom Tree. We are talking about quantum computing today and the Wisdom Tree Quantum Computing Fund.

We are really excited about this discussion. Chris, welcome. Great to have you with us today. Thank you for having me. Thanks everyone for listening in with us here. So let's start with the basic question. What exactly is quantum computing and how is it different from classical computing? So we hear that it is going to disrupt the nature of computing. Tell us how.

Yes. So in thinking about classical computing, which has had an incredible run, I always like to think of the Intel 4004 chip, which I think hit the market in 1975. And it's been amazing to sort of watch the increase in capability, the recognition.

And you sort of think in 1975 that ship was viewed as extremely capable. But you compare to what we run today, you know, the Nvidia Blackwell, the Rubin type systems, the amount of memory that's in our laptop, in our smartphone, dwarfs the probably total amount of memory that people would have ever conceived of years and years ago.

And so when you think of the underlying nature of how it works, the key thing about classical computing is it works on a series of zeros and ones. And those zeros and ones history has shown us going all the way back. Vacuum tubes were one way of doing it. Silicon wafers are what we use today and what we've been using the better part of 70 years.
