Hey everybody, welcome back to another episode of Talking Precision Medicine. Today it is my great privilege and pleasure to welcome Jacob Hooker to the show. Jacob is CEO of a really cool biotech called Sensorium. I don't think I could do it justice, but you're going to hear throughout the episode why I think it's so cool, why I'm so stoked to have Jacob with us. Jacob, welcome. Why don't we jump right in? Tell us who you are and what Sensorium is all about.

Thanks for having me. I love to start by saying I'm a chemist. I wear that identity really proudly. Over the course of my career, though, I became really, really fascinated by the brain and really think every day about the chemistry of the brain, when it goes right and when it goes wrong, and a lot about how we improve mental health in the United States and more globally beyond that.

Well, tell us about Sensorium. Are you an original founder? Were you the original CEO? And what's the company's mission? I co-founded Sensorium at the height of the pandemic. So just rewind a little bit to 2021.
