The deal comes after the two sides extended their trade truce by two months. Beijing says they're also launching talks on artificial intelligence and setting up a communication channel for AI-related incidents. The US has not yet commented on the agreement. Iran is awaiting an official response from the US after it proposed a plan to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and halt fighting within seven days.

The Wall Street Journal reports President Trump has rejected the offer and told his staff more bombing is likely after the midterms. Reuters hasn't confirmed that report. Iran says everything is in place if Washington is serious about a deal.
