So we're going to have on today someone who is an expert in artificial intelligence, but he's also probably one of the most hated people in the kind of industry because he is a genuine scientist who understands how AI works. He has been an entrepreneur, has sold a company in the space, but he is also somebody who's very skeptical of the finance heavy development path

that we've gone on with AI. That's right, and his name is Gary Marcus. He's a professor emeritus of psychology and neuroscience at New York University. As you said, Matt, he founded a machine learning company called Geometric Intelligence that was later acquired by Uber, and he really actually believes in the technology. He's called a skeptic by the industry because he thinks that the way that

they're going about it, technologically and also financially, is kind of a dead end. So we're going to talk about a lot of things, including the business models and then what is artificial intelligence, some of the history, but we're also going to go into how you can tell the difference between the hype and things that are real. He has a really good sub stack, Gary Marcus's,

you know, just Google Gary Marcus sub stack, which can help discern some of this stuff. But yeah, we're going to talk about some of that and whether we're actually truly entering a singularity. Yeah, it's good that unlike Matt and I, we have someone on that actually knows what they're talking about. So he can distinguish very well from the bullshit that we see on a minute-by-minute basis
