Welcome back friends, so glad you're with me here on opening bell live on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. We're getting you ready for the trading day. Joining me right now, Phil Rosen, Chief Market Strategist at ProCap Financial. Congratulations on your new role, Phil. We've known you a long time and this is exciting news. I wanted to ask you about the current situation. You were noting the equal weight, just how tech has fallen off some. Tell me some of your thoughts and especially today we're seeing tech down again with SanDisk and Western Digital and Apple, for example, the down arrow.

Many names under pressure. Is tech out of favor or is it going to come in and out of favor? I don't know if tech will ever be out of favor during a generational AI bull market, but I think what's really interesting is that equal weight has outperformed the market cap weighted S&P 500 and that means the average stock in the index is beating the index. So I think right now equal weights up about 14.5% this year and the index itself for the market cap weight is about maybe 13%.

So that's a very unusual sighting. And it's also to me quite a narrative violation because all the bears right now are saying, hey, the market's too top heavy. We're relying on all these mega cap names to drive everything right now. But that's really not what we're seeing because equal weight has outperformed so much. And at the same time, you're seeing the Dow outperform the S&P 500, which means investors are very comfortable buying the boring blue chip stocks, industrials, healthcare, financials.
