Good afternoon everybody, welcome to your TraderMerlin show for a special edition. A, I have got a guest on the program today, but B, it's a Federal FOMC Day or Federal Reserve Day. Exciting stuff and more importantly it wasn't just about the announcement itself, that was pretty much from my perspective a foregone conclusion. The difficult pieces were how do we deal with the press conference? How does this information from Kevin Warsh, the new chairman of the Federal Reserve, what does that look like? What does he do the same? What does he do differently?

It's kind of like saying, you know, I've got a new CEO at your job. The business still functions like it's supposed to, but departments get restructured, different things happen. You know, it takes a little while for you to adjust to having a new leader and we've got a very powerful leader at the chairman of the Fed. So we'll talk about that today with my guest joining me from the East Coast. We've got Mr. Bill Addiss for show number 1,339. Bill, how you doing my friend? 1339, always a pleasure, Merlin, always a pleasure, thank you.

1339, yes. It's a lot of shows, I will tell you that. Definitely a lot of shows. So I'm surprised I keep doing it every single day. So let's talk about this FOMC meeting today. Obviously last time you were on you were talking about how you expected some differences because you've met Mr. Warsh, you know his style. Let's start with your, I guess, your review of what happened today at the press conference because the rate announcement we know.

But we'll talk about the press conference and your view of today's meeting. Yeah, no, and I will say I was duly impressed. I thought he did a very good job, quite frankly. I thought he got some messages across. You know, the big, the, we microanalyze everything. We were talking before the meeting. You know, when the announcement came out at 2 o'clock about no rate change. Well, that's what everyone was expecting. Certainly nobody was caught by surprise. But the message itself was 140 words.

It was a very truncated message from when the Fed has in the past under Powell said no change. You know, the last press release under Powell was 354 words. I mean, you know, talk about how we microanalyze, you know, the compaction of the message from 354 words to 140 has certain significance. And it does.

It's Walsh sending a message that he's not going to be as forthcoming and he doesn't see the need for the Fed to be in the forecasting and prognostication business. And that was a major theme for this meeting. You know, the five task force, some job we'll get into, obviously. But I thought he handled the meeting very well. I thought he took a good tone with the press.

You know, once one journalist who from Bloomberg asked a third question, he was quick to shut him down saying he already had two. And I think the press needs that a little bit. But he is definitely going to be lo...
