Allbirds, once the defining shoe of the tech-bro era. Now pivoting into tech, we explore what sent the stock up over 600%. American Eagle and Sydney Sweeney announce a brand new partnership. While their last campaign drove double-digit growth, the question is can they do it again? And NVIDIA's new AI model wants to accelerate the path to quote useful quantum computers. We survey what that means and what it means for the quantum computing industry.

For Wednesday, April 15th, it's Brew Markets Daily and I'm Ann Berry. More market details to come. But first, hot news on quantum computing. It came out of Asia last night. And this caught our eye because here at Brew Markets we've been tracking this industry for a while, talking a lot about it on the show,

culminating in an interview with the CEO of Sector Bellwether, Rigetti Computing, just last Friday. Well, more on that in just a moment. Well, to set the stage a bit, unlike classical computers which use bits, that's zeros or ones, quantum computers use qubits, which can represent aspects of both zero and one at the same time. So stick with me a bit as I nerd through this. This phenomenon, which is called superposition, allows quantum computers to explore many possibilities at once,

exciting scientists and engineers with the prospect of cracking highly complex problems that have vast dimensions to them. Well, to continue nerding out, the fundamental challenge in quantum computing at the moment is that qubits are inherently noisy. So the best quantum processors make an error roughly once in every thousand operations. That's the best of them. But for real advancement in scientific and enterprise problem solving, those error rates need to drop to one in a trillion or even lower.

So back to Nvidia. Well, last night, the company launched Icing, which is called the world's first open AI models to accelerate the path to useful quantum computers. That's self-described by Nvidia. And these are AI models to close that big error rate gap. Now, the word that I note in Nvidia's description is useful. And here's why. At the moment, quantum computing players are predominantly working with academic institutions and government organizations like NASA.

But they do need to find commercial applications that's top of the sector's mind. And for public companies, of course, investors are looking at that commercialization because they want to see the path to cash flow generation. Well, here's one example that Dr. Sabood Kalkani, CEO of Rigetti, pointed to in our conversation. Our fundamental business model is to partner to grow the quantum ecosystem. So if you look at our entire stack, both the hardware and software, you will see several names that we partner with,

including AWS that we deployed the system with, Nvidia for the NVQ link, Quanta computer in Taiwan for hardware and so on. Regarding on the application side, we definitely encourage our customers ...
