My name is Urta Fultunavichuta and I'm a senior reporter. For the first episode, I will be talking to none other than Dave Wallace, Executive Editor at Generics Bulletins. Hello Dave.

Hello. Nice to be on. Thank you. It's very unusual for me to be sitting on this side of the interview. I'm nervous in a way that I'm not normally. I'm normally the one asking the questions. Well, also just as a disclaimer, it was my own choice to invite my boss to the first episode of the new series, so I was not forced, but I couldn't think of a better person to start this series.

I think Dave has been on the sidelines of the off-patent drug sector as a journalist and editor for over 16 years, so I think you have a very interesting perspective of the industry. Well, yes, I was just going to say, just to be clear, I'm not so egotistical that I've asked you to make me the first guest, but I'm honoured to be the inaugural guest to this first podcast. So, yeah, looking forward to the conversation. Great. Yeah, and yeah, I guess that's where I want to start then about your career in this industry and throughout your tenor in this space.

How has the public perception or attitude towards generics and biosimilars changed? For example, we still see words that have negative connotations such as copycat or knockoff drugs being used to describe generics and biosimilars, which have been proven to be equally safe...
