The bell's ringing into the trading day at the NYSE. CMC ringing the bell and at the NASDAQ, the Woodlands Financial Group and the United States Coast Guard putting the finishing touches on this record day. Welcome to Closing Bell Overtime. We're live from Studio B at the NASDAQ Market Site. I'm Melissa Lee. Mike Santoli is off today. Stocks soaring today on strong earnings and hopes for a deal on the straight-up Hormuz. The Dow gaining about 1,000 points, closing at a fresh record high. The S&P 500 up close to 2 percent. Its best day since April and also setting records on both an intraday and closing basis.

The NASDAQ up 2.5 percent, but still not quite to those early June records. Can today's reports continue the momentum? Both SpaceX and AMD, big gainers in today's session. We're expecting results in just moments. But that's not all. Amgen, Booking, Pinterest, Arista and many more out this hour will bring you all those numbers as they hit. But first, let's begin with today's massive record-setting rally. The NASDAQ up four straight sessions, at least 1 percent each day. That hasn't happened in more than a year. Christina Partsinevelos is here with more on today's moves. Christina.

Yeah, specifically the NASDAQ 100, if I narrowed in. It posted, you said, the biggest or one of the strongest four-day rally in the index's history happened, as I mentioned, or as you mentioned, six times in the last 20 years. Most of them just are right after COVID. Today's fuel, though, Melissa, was really about optical coherent lumentum jumping after Reuters reported the U.S. government is drafting a ban on new Chinese optical transceivers for data centers.
