Are political appointees better at deciding what science should be? I would tell you it's a resounding no. Yeah. You know, and peer review which they criticize, oh peer review has taken hostage by this and by wokeism, which is in the language. What does that mean? Right? Dr. Elias Zerhouni is the author of the book Disease Knows No Politics. He served as the NIH director during the George W. Bush administration.

Dr. Elias Zerhouni, We have to fight back. I am not in favor of what they're proposing in totality. But there are some things there that are good. Dr. Elias Zerhouni So good to have you. We attended your sessions. We loved it. We've gotten your book, gotten partway through it. Dr. Elias Zerhouni Very inspiring. You've got so many different stories and we're going to get to a lot of them. Dr. Elias Zerhouni But I do want to sort of start off with that you were a physician to President Reagan. Dr. Elias Zerhouni Yes. Dr. Elias Zerhouni And, you know, a lot of people in the country believe, and I think it's probably a mix between the Kennedy administration to the Trump administration, that people should have access.
