Something big happened in the bond market that I haven't been able to stop thinking about. The interest rate on America's 10-year debt has hit the highest level since 2002. And I know, I know, government bonds, very exciting. Except this one number helps determine how much you pay for a mortgage, what businesses pay to borrow money, how much the U.S. government is going to pay on its $40 trillion of debt,

and ultimately the value of each and every dollar you own. But what's wild is the interest rates hitting a 24-year high isn't even the strange part. It's that at the exact same time, three other things started happening that I don't think most people are putting together. President Trump openly talking about how inflation is the plan to pay off U.S. debt, central banks doubling down on their gold buying despite bond yields rising,

and the U.S. Treasury bringing in Judy Shelton, an economist who has spent a lifetime proposing something that up until recently, many might have thought sounded insane, to put gold back at the center of the U.S. monetary system. But once you understand what she's actually proposing, what's happening right now in the Treasury market, and the bizarre way that the U.S. values the largest gold reserves in the world,

well, these suddenly start looking like separate stories and more like one big picture. So today, we're going to break it down together. Let's start with what's happening right now. Over the last week, the yield or the interest paid on 10- and 30-year Treasury bonds has hit the highest level since 2002. And I know many people hear bonds and check out, but stay with me on this, because these numbers impact everything in your daily financial life.
