Javier Morales Hi, my name is Javier Morales from the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra-Northwell in Hempstead, New York, and I'm also the Vice President of the Advanced Internal Medicine Group in East Hills, New York. Welcome to Bridging Knowledge to Action, Translating Evidence Into Practice for Type 2 Diabetes Management.

Before we begin, you've probably done a lot of online continuing education programs, but we want to do more than give you an opportunity to earn credit hours. We want to give you the tools you need to actually improve your clinical practice. Practice improvement starts with a plan. So what do we hope to learn today? Is that now is better than later in managing hemoglobin A1c, weight, and helping to reduce cardiometabolic risk factors in patients with type 2 diabetes. The GLP-1 receptor agonists do play a key role in the increasingly enlarging toolbox for addressing all of these risks simultaneously.
