So this is going to be one heck of a second hour here on Freight Waves today All right, with that, we are going to welcome John Kingston in and talk a little bit about oil and what's happening Brent crude oil still high, diesel still high We expect it to continue to fall, I'm guessing, as we seek resolution with Iran But give us an update, John Well, they're termed

Brenton and diesel are way down from their highs on the commodities markets that were recorded in March And they're certainly way down And diesel alone Diesel alone is down like 30 cents in the last couple of days A little higher this year But now the fun starts Now the fun, which is What's going to dominate here? This morning, the International Energy Agency Which is the big, well, that's exactly what it sounds like It's an international energy agency Mostly of Consuming Nations came out with its monthly report

It was very timely I mean, they made reference to the peace plan And you could read their report in a couple of ways I viewed it as in the short term being pretty bullish You know, they talk about the buffers That one of the reasons the price of oil Even despite this massive loss of capacity The fact that the price of oil did not go even higher Is because of a lot of buffers And the buffers include releases of strategic stocks all over the world Including the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve

It includes the fact that China really cut down on its imports We're not really sure kind of what they filled with that with Where the buffer has been an increase in the United States exports So to me, I'm not really sure why that would be seen as having an impact It doesn't change the supply demand balance It just kind of rerouse them The reality is that You know, that supply is probably not going to come back as quick as some people hope It's probably going to take longer to reopen the straightforward
