I'm your host, JP Conklin, joined as always by my lovely wife and the real boss here at Pensford, Sarah. Good morning. Good morning. I don't know where to go from here. You're despondent. You're dejected. You're depressed.

I'm not a good headspace right now because the Charlotte Hornets have ruined my weekend and a trade just broke that I am furious about. So it's tough for me to get into headspace to talk about interest rates. I get it and I'm proud of you for stepping up to the mic. It shows you're a true professional, a scholar, and a gentleman. Why are you laughing? I don't know. Whatever. So last week we had inflation data. This week we got a jobs report.

There's a whole bunch of stuff going on with Iran. I assume every one of our listeners is just as cranky as I am right now. And it's like, can you give me the TLDR? And here it is. That's not hiking this year. Period. Dang it. Markets disagree with this assessment. There's like an 80% chance of a hike this year. But worse was putting on a show and the markets bought it.

And this call is going to look even more bold after Thursday's red hot jobs report. So I figured we will spend a little bit of time talking about inflation from last week. Then we'll talk about the jobs report. Obviously, interest rates. Not the Hornets. And maybe even a little bit about Iran. And now a word from our sponsor.
