Welcome to Check 6. After a few weeks focused on Europe with ILA, Eurosatary, GASC, and then Farnborough, it's time to catch up with what's been going on in the broader Pentagon sphere. Joining me for that conversation are Aviation Week Defense Editor Steve Trimble, who has done a field trip to Oshkosh and Dayton, and Pentagon Editor Brian Everstein back in the D.C. area after his trip to the U.K. I'm your host, Robert Wall, Executive Editor for Defense in Space.

So Steve, you went to Oshkosh and you talked to Secretary of the Air Force Troy Mink. It was really his first chat with an independent outlet. So what struck you in particular? Yeah, so I mean the first thing, it was great to do it at Oshkosh. That's the home of the Experimental Aircraft Association's AirVenture Fly-In every year. Happens to be one of my favorite events on the calendar.

It's just a great place to go. I'm not getting paid to endorse Oshkosh, but I really, really enjoy it. And it was interesting to talk to Troy Mink in that context. He's been in the office for a year and a half, hasn't done a lot of interviews. I think we're the only ones outside of Air and Space Forces magazine that he's talked to in that timeframe.
