EOD work, I always describe it as like playing like high-speed chess with your life. You have to make the exact right decision under extreme pressure and you're lucky if it only kills you. Today's guest is a decorated special operations veteran who spent 21 years in EOD, aka Explosive Ordinance Disposal. The grotesque beauty of a mine, whether it's on the ground or in the ocean, once you think it's there, you have to treat that whole area. You know, kids play that game like the floor is lava, right?

Like that's what you're doing. He's seen the full evolution of battlefield threats from the inside over those 21 years. You know, you and I could go over to Home Depot this afternoon and by tomorrow morning we're in the sea mine business. Literally one of them is all it takes to shut down the street again. All over again. And not just for days or weeks. We're talking months. He also happens to be Director of Manufacturing, Logistics and Operational Planning here at Firestorm.

Before the drones were the big thing, it was mines. Warfare is a cycle and they're going to go back to what works and landmines work for over 100 years. It's not going away anytime soon. Let's envision the, you know, the great victory day. Ukraine has pushed the Russians out, you know, like out of Crimea, out of the Donbass, out of everything.
