Now You Know Podcasts

Hey everybody, I'm Zach. And I'm Jesse. And you're watching Tesla Time News. Episode 663 on Now You Know.

So Cursor is now part of SpaceX. Today we officially closed our acquisition. We'll join the SpaceX AI team to help make Grok the world's most useful AI and improve Grok build, Grok bot, Grok API, Cursor, and more. SpaceX has built some of the most inspiring and impressive technology in the world and we're grateful for the opportunity to become part of such a special company. Onwards. And Elon Musk said, looking forward to working together even more. So yeah, they had originally, SpaceX had like invested in Cursor with the option to buy it.

Right, $60 billion, they bought it. It's theirs now. And I think as we'll talk about today on Investor Club, this is far more valuable, I think, than Anthropics Cloud Code. So Tesla was issued a permit by the Nevada Transportation Authority or the NTA to start operating its robo-taxi network in the Silver State. The permit starts with a maximum fleet size of 10 vehicles. What? That's not much of a fleet. But Tesla can apply for up to 5,000 robo-taxis in the first year with approval from the NTA.

Currently, the permit only allows Tesla to begin operating along the Las Vegas Strip Corridor on roads with a top speed of 45 miles an hour or less. And the permit doesn't allow Tesla to operate at the Harry Reid International Airport or even within a quarter mile of it. Currently, Zoox is the only other company operating under this autonomous vehicle permit. Zoox has been operating in Las Vegas since last year with a fleet of about 100 cars and has already given about 350,000 passenger rides. This is exciting. Yeah.
