Good Monday afternoon everyone, Kip Herriage here with the WDR Investing Podcast. Hope you had a good day today. Hope your weekend was a great one as well. Of course, it's a holiday-shortened week this week. No trading on Friday for the July 4th weekend. But it's sure to have a lot of fireworks. Look, if you were with us last week, we started teeing this up about Wednesday or Thursday. We were talking about seasonality, how the analytics began to change in July. It didn't wait until July, did it? Really good day today. Internals were kind of funky, but look,

it really doesn't matter. This market is going higher. The June Swoon leading to a July melt-up, that's been our call. And sometimes you got to go through the valleys to get back to the peaks. And so that's the way the markets act. I want to talk about this again in a minute. Because so much of what we're seeing, we talked about this last week or week before, I forget. But it's such an important topic. I don't think it's talked about enough. So much of what we see, especially in the short term, especially in counter trend moves, so much of what we see is driven by algorithms.

Right? These CTAs, these are systematic traders that trade based on a formula of where they see the markets going based on what they see happening on rate hikes, rate cuts, inflation, etc. And what's interesting about that is I've made a fortune betting against these people.

Like, I'm telling you much of my career, because I had an email exchange today with one of our members, and he's a very smart guy. And I love having him here. Always brings up things I hadn't thought about before.

But he asked me a lot of questions that frankly, I just don't think about things that I just don't even enter my mind. The reason is, is that I'm a macro guy. I believe in getting the trend right. If you get the primary trend right, and you get your macro call right, right, then it for me, at least, it's much more art than science. I am anything but an analysis paralysis person.

I'll tell you, the people that I've known in my career, they were heavily driven by analysis paralysis, lose to the markets pretty much every single year. They're in their head too much.

They're thinking too much about this, that and the other. They've got 100 things going on, they're processing too much. And you just can't make a good decision. Frankly, this again is why so many on Wall Street, lose to the markets every year, as you may know, 90% of money managers lose to the markets every single year, it's better for hedge funds. But again, most of what they do is now computer driven. A lot of is frankly, fraudulent, based on access to things they shouldn't have access to. That's just the way it is. But you know, I'll tell you the truth. Also, as we've said before,
